There I was. Back at the office. I left on 20 June for abroad for the filming of Hollands Next Top Model, then back home for exactly one day before I repacked for my trip to Italy. I had been gone from the office for a total of six weeks.

I half expected to be tripping over packages but it wasn’t that bad at all. Although I did receive an amazing package from CHANEL before my first half hour was up. Work is fun.

It seemed like a good moment to catch up with all my friends and colleagues from the business. On Tuesday I went with editor Josselin to Rotterdam to meet with our art director Lucia about the September issue. It’s going to be a whole lot of fabulous. Since I was in 010-code country anyway, I couldn’t miss out on a meeting with co-fashion lover Fred van Leer. Fred is the Rotterdam-connoisseur so I happily allowed him to lead me to the terrace at The Harbour Club, where we sat in the shade (wrinkles people, wrinkles) and got very spoiled.

On Wednesday I kidnapped Jet’s Vespa (she hadn’t used it in a month anyway, since our sporty Jet comes to work on her bike), and drove to Iconic, one of the hippest PR-agencies in the city. We shed a tear while watching Claire’s wedding video (seriously, even Liesbeth would get the wedding bug from watching it) and cooked up some great plans for New York Fashion Week, which is blocked out in our agendas in CAPITALS.

Thursday was spent typing away at the office, but we did have champagne at 4:30pm because it was our new intern Lillian’s birthday, then I dove into the Hilton garden with Olcay Gulsen.

The work week was closed off with an amazing dinner in the garden at Ron’s Gastro bar with my dear friend Micha Emmering-Krijger, yes she from Micha Models. What did we drink? Gin & Tonic with slices of cucumber of course.

Can this summer please last until January?
