The week that May-Britt at Boulevard, signs a confidentiality clause for Chanel, to be the first to see the commercial of the year that features Michiel Huisman.
Always a deadline.
It feels like the fall issue has just been launched and already the winter issue is tapping on my shoulder. It’s an early edition this year because we are featuring the Holland’s Next Top Model winner on our cover, and we want our issue online as quickly as possible after the HNTM finals.
She from Imaan Hammam
On Friday I interviewed Marit Koek, the woman that made a bit of model-history by discovering Imaan Hammam, for our Model Issue and then wrote the article at the office. I had a visit from a little girl in the afternoon. My little girl. She suffered during fashion month and the out of house mama that came with it, so we are compensating by dancing in the office on a Friday afternoon.
The Boulevard-bar
It is October and the month that we stand up for all woman (and the few men) that have been touched by breast cancer. I try to help in some way every year and this year it was even more important because I now know what it feels like to have someone you love affected by that stupid C disease. So it was extra important to interview Tommy Hilfiger about a bag that he had designed that is on sale for €300 of which €100 will go to charity. The item was featured on Tuesday and I got to tell all (‘all’ is a big word for everything you can say in two minutes) to Albert and Winston.
Secret mission
The Chanel ladies were staying in The Dylan Hotel in Amsterdam of course. Would I like to pop by for a glass (they say ‘un coupe’) of champagne and something special? Well of course.
As I arrive a confidentiality clause gets shoved under my nose and everything gets a little more exciting. I am sitting on a soft couch next to colleagues Anne-Marije de Vries Lentsch (Editor-in-chief Cosmopolitan) and Ellen Litz (Editor-in-chief Beau Monde) to watch the extremely exclusive preview of the No5 commercial with Gisèle Bundchen and ‘our’ (yes, yes in the world of fame every Dutch star is ours) Michiel Huisman. I cannot say a word about it, not even about the lovely music in it nor about Gisèle’s behind, but I will tell all on Monday.
A quickie to Copenhagen
Thursday was a wonderful day at the office and yesterday I found myself at Schiphol at 6am again, for a quickie to Copenhagen. Almost frustrating because my very best friend lives just 20 minutes away in Malmö. but my visit is short, I have to work and complete my foreword for the winter issue by Monday. So I type everything up in the lobby of the hotel l’Angleterre and shop a little with Janine Breukhoven-Kho, my digital girlfriend from Pret-a-pregnant.com.
Happy weekend, May
