It was so cool

Amsterdam Fashion Week

Amsterdam FashionWeek is over but what an extravaganza it was. With among others, Claes Iversen, Spijkers en Spijkers, Ilja Visser, Esther Louise Dorhout Mees and Tony Cohen showing off their latest collections. The range was hugely diverse and the clothes breathtakingly beautiful. Here is a brief summary of a few of the show that made made an impression during FashionWeek.

Claes showed his very first ready-to-wear collection during this FashionWeek. The soft colours he used gave a classic feeling. Claes kept everything as simple as possible. There were many pieces with a wide silhouette, but also a good few tailored dresses that billowed out towards the bottom. We saw mostly powder shades, black and emerald green colours walking down the runway. The most fabrics were gorgeous and all the models wore sandals.

The Dorhout Mees show can be described in a single word – amazing. The entire show had a magical and bewitching atmosphere. The heavenly colours used were so beautiful. Mostly light blues, soft pinks and whites. The striking silhouettes were gorgeous too.

Ready To Fish used mostly neutral tints in this collection, which were combined with summer colours like sky-blue, orange, lavender and bright green. There were also several prints as expected, this time inspired by kinetic art.

The two sisters once again put on a fabulous show with amazing outfits. Mostly tailored but also a few loose fitting dresses were seen. The crazy prints were very impressive as they passed by. Yellow, red, blue were all combined with each other to form a perfect whole.

Tony Cohen showed both a women’s and a men’s collection this year. The show was opened by the stunning Kim Feenstra. There were many long, wide skirts and flowing trousers seen in the women’s collection. Shades of white, black and navy blue were used. The men wore mostly short pants combined with jackets. Leather shirts and trousers were also seen. Tony Cohen closed the show off together with his little boy.
