Tips to have you looking decent in a half hour, after a long trip.

Imagine, you’ve just stepped off an aeroplane, train or out of a car and need to show up at a drink or party in a very short time. The only wrinkles bigger than those on your cheeks are those of the silk shirt you’re supposed to be wearing and your hair is more static than ever and is standing on end. Not party-proof at all. But, use these tips and you’ll be looking bright eyed and bushy tailed in no time at all, and mingling in-between the party people with a glass of bubbly in your hand.

Make sure you turn up with a small well prepared suitcase with everything in it, rather than a gigantic big bag. Swap out your big travelling sweater for a lovely silk top, because this can be rolled up small and tight. When you pull it out of your bag, it’ll be totally wrinkled but no panic because you can steam it right within 5 minutes. Get under the shower, turn the heat up to 1000 degrees and hold the top by the shoulders and then shake it in the steam (not in the water duh), it will be totally wrinkle free in just a few minutes.

 Hair

Whenever I’m going through a Phase or Moment Of Bad Hair, I pull it back in a tight ponytail, tie it in a knot and hairspray it. It looks sleek and tidy, and I get loads of compliments about it even though it’s actually a coverup. For all those who are not into that look, you can find solace in a drop of Biosilk to take away the frizz.

Shoes

Travelling in heels is so not chic, so don’t do it. Wear easy to pack away ballerinas on your feet, and pack a pair of simple but good black pumps in your bag (or a specific pair that goes with your outfit of course). A black trouser + silk top + good pumps = a perfect cocktail look.

 Perfume

A heavy spray of deodorant under the arms and a spritz of perfume will have you feeling fresh in no time flat.

 Make-up

The steam from the shower will have left your face feeling a bit fresher. Jet swears by Le Beige from Chanel for a quick touch up. A lick of mascara, blush on your cheeks and lip balm on your lips and you’ll be ready to go.
