Perhaps don’t

Right. A hat is meant to serve against the cold. It didn’t have anything to do with decoration or making a fashion statement because, honestly, it doesn’t necessarily improve your looks. But fashion’s hard to fathom, and then, suddenly, someone thinks it’ll look cool to let your beanie hang on the back of your head. It’s perhaps the hat equivalent of the coat draped around the shoulders. Just to show you’re beyond cold and wind? But why are you wearing it? That coat, I understand. But that hat. And then those men who suddenly started doing it. I really don’t understand. Hats are for bats. Or when it’s intensely cold. Period.
