The slip-on is on
I’m taking you to Paris Fashion Week. We’ll zoom in a bit further to Avenue Winston Churchill, and even more to the majestic entrance of the Grand Palais. Everyone present wears something Chanel because in ten minutes or so, Karl Lagerfeld will send his new creations down the runway. Grace Coddington is standing next to me. The Grace Coddington. Like there could’ve been several. Duh. I examine every inch of her look. The pins in her hair hardly make me run to the nearest store, but her smoking trousers look great. Blue with black piping. And the shoes. The slip-on, back when they were still called boating shoes. They’re everywhere, and they’re on. So buy them now if you want to be hip this spring.
