New York never sleeps. And neither does the news. The banal drumming of the New York presses run overtime, no exceptions. This week us New Yorkers discussed 3 bespoke novelties that rose on the horizon of Manhattan.
1. DAVID L: “THE EAGLE HAS LEFT THE BUILDING’.
The curtain has fallen for David Letterman. The ‘king’of television hosts who has hosted his late night show, one of the greatest TV shows with the highest rankings for 33 years. The common response to his last show aired from New York was: he will be missed. All of famous America, including Barak Obama, bod the pensioner-to-be one last farewell.
2. HELLO SAILORS
It’s Fleet Week! That means lots of sailors and majors on our shore! This time every year since 1982 marines and soldiers flood into the city. That means: lots and lots of men, lots of parties and probably lots of promiscuous women who can take their pick. The usual ratio here is 1 to 3, that’s 3 gents for every single lady. You can’t really blame them for this weekend can you? Ay, yay Sir!
3. SHAKE SHACK IS OPEN
New York is the birthplace of the tastiest burger in America: the Shake Shack. There’s a whole chain of them now over all of the country but in NYC Shake Shack only has two locations (weird). One is around Times Square and the other is around Flatiron a.k.a. just around the corner from me. Unfortunately the one near me has been closed for months, a nightmare for New Yorkers who prefer to avoid Times Square. But the burger store is now open again. Oh yes!
