5 THINGS WE SHOULD DO THIS FALL

-Overview of the NYFW beauty trends-

Now that I’ve fin-all-y gotten over my jet lag , it’s a good time to review the week. We saw quite a few shows; so let’s take a look at the new trends coming up. Naturally I’ll be writing it all up in six months to bring you fully up to date, but a preview can’t do any harm.

PONY CLUB

Orlando Pita was the hair stylist most in demand. He carried out insanely good work at the Herrera and Derek Lam shows and created enormous pony tails on all the girls. So it’s long, thin and beautiful ponytails.

NAIL ACCENTS

Nude and white are totally in, but not so plain as they are now at Winter’s end. A wee bit extra is allowed. So add a touch of sparkle, a thin line or a dot of colour. Doesn’t mean creating an entire artwork, just a little extra. Less is still more.

A BIT WET, A BIT DRY

The wet look is still in, but now combined with healthy waves. So this autumn, don’t just go for healthy or wet, but combine the lot. The same goes for your make-up look. The trend was started by the film Frozen and has been taken quite literally. The beauty as a kind of snow queen. We saw that at Donna Karan and Alexander Wang, for example. Lots of fresh and light colours on the eyes and especially lots of matt.

WETLOOK 2.0

Continuing with the wet look, while last year this was on the ‘greasy’ side, now it’s just really wet. As if the models were caught in a heavy rain shower. So really very wet.

 RED

Red lips never go out of style. And certainly not this fall.
