5 times no lumpy mascara
– really, it’s very simple –
Last week Dior’s Wim Thompson told me that your mascara doesn’t have to look perfect. To prove my point; there are mascaras out there you can buy that enhance a lumpy effect. After seeing it on the catwalk, it’s what we want. But there are lumps and there are lumps, those last lumps can be a little over the top. Read; dirty looking. You don’t want that because you want your lashes perfectly done without them sticking together. This shouldn’t be a problem if you take these following 5 life lessons to heart.
Overdue
It is possible that your mascara is past it’s due date, you forgot to put the top back on correctly which will cause your mascara to dry out or is full of bacteria. Dry mascara causes lumps but is also the culprit for possible infections. Worst case scenario. So lesson 1; after six months it’s really time for a new mascara.
You use too much
Two layers is fine, but beware before going further. Build it up slowly using a zigzag effect. This gives you a perfect result. Do you see lumps forming? There’s you limit.
Clean thoroughly
If you don’t remove your mascara thoroughly and neatly it is most likely you won’t start off neatly the next day. Let’s compare this situation to an artist’s; he doesn’t paint on a dirty canvas does he?
Too much kills
Too much mascara on you brush is, for one, not easy to apply and never gives you the best result. Take another look at step 2. And let me give you the tip I received from make-up artists, dispose of excess mascara by ticking the brush on the rim. This way you get rid of the excess before applying it.
Zigzag
I’ve already mentioned this, but zigzagging is essential. This prevents you applying too much mascara in one spot and at the same time gives all of your lashes an even coating. The best part of course is no lumps.
