6 things May-Britt is guaranteed to bring to New York

By the time you’re reading this, I will be somewhere across the Atlantic. Whereas most people enjoy complaining about intercontinental flights, there is almost nothing I enjoy doing more.  Being offline for a couple of hours and no one to get mad at you for it, picking at the airplane food you’ve been given, drinking a small bottle of pretty bad wine (sorry my KLM friends, it’s the truth) and watching three different movies. And dreaming about everything I’m going to be doing and wearing in New York. So here is a little run through of what I’m tagging along in my suitcase.

1.     The latest from TopShop

Right before I left, I had lunch at the Topshop atelier where they showed me their newest collection. The dress with flowers screamed New York and so it was neatly packed into my suitcase.

2.     NUXE for the legs

I always feel like September treats me to whatever I lacked back in February. A few degrees to say the least because I was treated to a temperature of -20 in New York back in February and current temperatures are at around 28 degrees. That means my bare legs require a bit of Nuxe. For a silky smooth finish.

3.     Dr. Sebagh Oxygen Mask

Your skin always needs a bit of a boost after a long flight and big cities like NY don’t necessarily give you a glowing feeling. And that is exactly why I am carrying around this miracle worker. You spray a layer of mouse onto your face, which then tingles and tickles a bit before it completely disappears into your pores. Cover it up with a piece of cloth and you’ll be stepping outta the plane with the face of a 20 year old.

4.     Gris Montaigne

I’ve mentioned it before but I’m a big advocate of buying a different scent on every trip I go on, something of a nostalgic itch. My last trophy was Dior’s Gris Montaigne, an exclusive fragrance that you can only buy in Dior stores. I wore it to the supermarket the other day and a very old man complimented me on my ‘great perfume.’ So that Dior, it has clearly deserved a place in my suitcase for New York. But if I’ll be able to steer clear of it afterwards and leave it as memorabilia of my trip….that is still undisclosed.

5.     Urban Ears Headset

I’m one of those idiots who always has to use the crackling earphones KLM has to offer. I watched Dior and I on mute during my last flight. I just turned on the subtitles meant for the deaf. Time for an upgrade so I treated myself to a spanking new headset. To pleasantly watch all the movies I please. And to travel in my own little bubble and avoid conversations with neighbors.

6.     Filippa K. workout outfit

Yep, you definitely read that right. Amsterdam based PR company Ganbaroo gifted me a fine set of workout clothes. And it just so happens that our health editor Jet has booked some hotshot personal trainer in New York to whip us into shape. So luckily I’ll look good during the process.
