A week of
BEAUTIFUL HAIR
This weekend I just feel like having no hassles. No styling or curling tongs, not gallons of hairspray, just flawless hair that looks as good on Sunday as it did on Saturday. My poor old hair deserves a little rest, dagnabbit and so do I. How do we fix this? Don’t fret, let me figure this one out for you. You know me by now.
1. CLEAN
Use a hair mask and then make sure you wash it out very well. Then make an appointment at the hairdresser for a blow dry. Then you know one: it’s properly cleaned and two: you can ask for a discount because it costs them less time and they don’t have to use products. Smarty pants, huh? My Turkish hair stylist Saadet is my total heroine. Fifteen minutes and finito. That’s why I do it every week.
2. Scrunchie
When you go to bed roll everything into a bun working in the direction of your hair. If you want the bun to stay put; do not use harsh pins or elastic bands with metal, but a scrunchie (remember that episode of SATC where Carrie despises this hair band? Well this is the rare occasion you can get away with it).
3. Dry shampoo
He’s back: our dry shampoo friend! If your hair is greasy, spray a little in, comb it out and hey presto! You are ready to go get ‘em!
4. BRAID OR BUN
If your hair is a complete birds nest you can always make a braid or bun out of it. Work with it, not against it. Take advantage of the good structure your hair already has.
