“Have you heard the news?” This question has been making its rounds from school grounds to the office to me. And right away I know what this question is referring to. Yfke Sturm. Our Yfke. The pride and joy of our little country with an unparalleled modeling career.
Yfke has worked with Mario Testino, Patrick Demarchelier, David LaChapelle, Bruce Weber, Peter Lindbergh and many, many more. Our Yfke was the first to present Holland’s Next Top Model. She still works as a mentor for the winners of the show. Our Yfke who published her own book called Model Secrets. Our Yfke who puts her heart and soul into charities such as the Red Cross. Our Yfke, business women extraordinaire who launched her own agency with her former husband and now runs The Model House with Freek Koster which will be launched in a few weeks. Our Yfke who became a mother of a beautiful baby boy on July 24th. Our Yfke who’s name means ‘eternity.’
Darling Yfke, I hope you can do your name justice and stay with us for an eternity, or at least for a very very long time. For your husband, your newborn and for yourself.
