an even better way of finding airline tickets
Rio, New York and Paris are in the past and I have no new trips planned on my schedule, this always makes me a little unsettling. I try to requench my uneasiness by dreaming about a new travel location. This year I have my eye set on two. First of all I would like to spend my summer months on a long chill vacation somewhere on a paradise beach and second, I want to spend Christmas and New Years , as I have done in the past, somewhere far, far away. For the later I was thinking of Australia, where I’ll meet up with my friends from Rio. We still form the cutest app group (“Dutchie and the Boys”). A plan has started hatching about the four of us traveling through Australia for a month, thereby celebrating New Years in Sydney. I’m way of course here as I wanted to tell you about a new way of looking for airline tickets resulting in getting the best price.
Because our light in the darkness, Google, now has Google Flights, and as goes for all things by Google, this one is head and master when it comes to searching for tickets. Where regular sites sometimes have sneaky deals with airliners or other ways of building up the prices, Google Flights hardly seems bothered. You will also find a few handy tricks up Google’s sleeve that insure, that even if your travel plans are not definite yet, playing around on the site is a real trip.
it looks out for the best city
For example, my Aussie trip to Sydney on my desired travel date would cost me € 1172,- and € 1633,- if I want to fly a little further up to Port Macquarie while for Melbourne it adds up to € 1454,-. I receive all this information by simply typing “ Australia”, complete with map and possible destinations. For my summer plans I typed “Asia” and find that it’s € 800,- for a ticket to Bangkok and € 1000,- for Bali.
it’s surprising
Suppose you have a budget and you know how long you want to be away, but just don’t have a clue to where you want to go, Google will give you some fun suggestions. Just like in the search engine you can click on “ I’m feeling lucky’ and suggestions fitting your budget will magically appear.
it shows you the best day to fly
Skyscanner does the same thing but with Google you can look up to nine months ahead to check on the cheapest fly dates, no other site has this.
it gives you tips
There is a kind of tab that shows how much you would save if you were to choose a different departure time or a different airport.
it keeps an eye out for the lowest price
Found your flight but in no hurry on securing the booking? Install a price alert and Google will mail you when the prices start going down.
