BEAUTY BOOTCAMP

– Ready for summer in 5 steps –

Now that everyone is chilling on the beach or lounging on some tropical island I have time to get organized. By that I mean listing tips to rid yourself of the stress caused by waxing legs, plucking eyebrows, unpolished nails and uneven tans. Think about it; it might be a bit of stress beforehand but you’ll be totally relaxed once on vacation.

Medium rare

No one wants to lie on the beach looking as white as a sheet. To level out the transgression and lower the contrast between you and other beach people you can DIY  with self tanning lotion. First that means a good scrub, never a bad idea before a vacation, and then we start smearing on that tan. A spray gives you a smooth and level finish without the Oompa Loompa effect. And don’t forget; just because you’ve used tanning lotion doesn’t mean you don’t need the protection of suntan lotion.

Gel nails

Here at the office, polished nails are a must and even more so when you go on vacation. You don’t want to see ugly chipped nails and nail polish can get all sticky in the sun. So think ahead. Gel nails seem like the perfect solution; they don’t damage the natural nails en it stays perfect for two weeks. S-u-p-e-r!

Eyebrows

When you’re on vacation you probably don’t feel like going through a whole carwash of makeup rituals in the morning. Nope. Long live the Parisian-look, the je-ne-se-quoi. Make sure your eyebrows are up for the job, these give your face allure and personality. You can have them shaped and colored at your nearest brow bar, so no eyebrow stress on vacation.

Coupe summer

Your hair grows faster in the summer because of the warm sunlight and vitamin D. Vitamin D has many advantages but one major setback, your hair can feel like straw. Getting a trim before you go on vacation certainly won’t do any harm. And neither will a good hair color mask, the sun can totally change the color of recently colored hair. Believe me, I know.

Smooth and shiny

We don’t want to work with razors on vacation; it takes too much time and effort. Go for a wax treatment and get rid of all excess hair so you can postpone your next shaving session for as long as possible. Plan this on time because waxing is a little hefty for the skin as it requires a 48-hour recovery.
