Beauty trends that can stand the heat

–because there is definitely something you can wear during these tropical temperatures–

During this summer’s seething hot temperatures I think you have probably buried your face in blotting paper, foundation brushes and other stuff to keep your makeup in place. Now we dug deep into our trend archives and found some trends that are very 2015 and that work well during high temperatures, which usually causes things to smear. The code word is: accents.

Accentuate the mouth

Eye shadow is something I wouldn’t use during hot spells. It fades out fast or builds up between the lines of your eyes, not pretty. Therefore I would recommend a lip statement. A matte color stays in place longer than a glossy one. Powdering the mouth with foundation before applying the lipstick will ensure a few hours of hefty color without it sticking to your glass or smearing off your lips.

eyebrows

You’ve already read about it here and here but eyebrows determine the shape of your face, so if you don’t let them work for you there’s a lot of necessary compensation required (read: red lips). If you don’t have those red lips it’s back to the brows to give them some attention. You can forget about the rest of your face (saves time and hassle) but make sure to color those brows and shape them using a waterproof stick and fixating gel. They’ll stay put and give your face so much shape that no one will notice that drop of sweat on your forehead or that blotted foundation caused by the heat.

Hefty lashes

It’s also an option to place the accent on your lashes. Tune up the zigzags motions making those lashes look long and full. Choose a good waterproof mascara that won’t smudge. By accentuating those huge Bambi eyes it’s unnecessary to put anything else on your face.

Nude beauty

A natural look always goes down well. Normally you would build up the nude look with the required concealers and foundations but the sun has probably added some color to your face so no need to do all of that. Besides, your skin is usually tighter and brighter in the summer than it is during the rest of the year. A blemish? Use foundation powder, not a liquid one. Brush the eyebrows into shape and add some lip balm to the lips and your nude look will stay utterly summer proof all day. And don’t worry about too much shine as the shiny nude look is very in right now.
