We’ve become rather repetitive mentioning the side effects of sunlight on our skin and how they cause wrinkles. And the same goes for smoking and drinking. But did you know that these following five things are also guilty of aging our faces?
Chewing Gum
Gum is great for the elasticity of your jaw, but did you know it that that wrinkle around your mouth is only heightened by it? Believe me, this is not a myth according to Joel Schlessinger, dermatologist and cosmetic surgeon.
Sleeping with make up on
Sleeping with make up on is everything but great for your skin. It clogs the skin and can cause quite the acne uproar. Now this doesn’t automatically mean that when you wake up your face will be filled with wrinkles, but it is a start. Your collagen build up lessens causing, surprise surprise, more wrinkles. A good cleanse gives your skin time to breath.
Fidgeting
Fidgeting with your skin is never a good idea. Now I know if you have a small pimple, it’s hard not to touch it, but trust me, this will cause more damage than you’d like.
Sunscreen
Sunscreen is essential. Even in the winter since the sun always shimmers, even when you can’t see it. You need to protect your skin since UV radiation causes wrinkles. You might not see it right away, but just give it a few years.
Sleep
If you sleep with your face down on your pillow, the pillow can give you wrinkles. A silk pillow is softer for your face and allows it to breath. Silk pillows are great for your hair too by the way, it gives it more shine.
