COCO CHANEL’S LUCKY CHARM

Not a day goes by that I do not get immersed in the world of Coco. The amazing Mademoiselle Gabrielle Chanel. In the morning I spray a little Chance, then a little Quatre Ombres on the eyes and well, clearly I could make a daily schedule of my Coco routines. As of today, I’m adding a little something new to my Chanel ritual: Chance Eau Vive. Here on the editorial floor we are all very much infatuated with the very lovely Chanel Chance, but this is a new favorite. I’m very nearly tempted to pop that little bottle in my bag and smuggle home. This could be my moment of happiness.

It doesn’t come as a surprise that the wonderful properties of the series Chance by Chanel didn’t emerge for no reason. Coco loved to surround herself with symbols of luck, good fortune and prosperity. She attached subtle messages and personal signs in all that she created. Let’s have a closer look at Gabrielle Chanel and her lucky charms.

The four leafed clover is a good luck charm. Now it’s not a very exciting story, but the fact remains that it is awfully rare to find a clover with four leaves, thus making it a sign of luck. Seriously, in the years gone by it was even thought that the leaves themselves brought good luck. But if you dive deeper into the matter and the symbolism of the clover, then you will find it actually symbolizes a passionate life. The clover plant is quite strong and grows quite hardily, so yes, make the link yourself.

Grain is the symbol of abundance and generosity. Effort is rewarded for the hard work. To aid the celebration of happiness and prosperity Mademoiselle Chanel loved having wheat distributed around her even decorating her apartment with it.

Coco Chanel was considered to be born under a lucky star and she liked it very much to collect different ‘lucky charms’. She was very superstitious.

Now I’ll be honest and say that my beliefs in superstitions sway a little from time to time, but I can tell you that my life has taken a huge turn of luck since I had my first little spray of Eau Vive. You can bet that little bottle of Chanel Chance Eau Vive will no longer be leaving my side. It is now my true lucky charm.
