Dine like the stars
– 5 STEPS FOR THE PRETTIEST TABLE SETTING –
It’s easy to just grab any random table cloth you have at home and light up some candles, but for Christmas, it’s okay to go a little bit overboard. Seriously though guys, this is the perfect moment to be creative, buy cute napkins and use your fanciest cutlery. Not the most creative bunch of the flock? No worries. These five steps are going to help you create the prettiest dinner table in town. Who knows, maybe Karl and Mrs. Westwood will join you…
1. come up with a theme
I love themes. It’s easier to stay on track of what you want and to create the coolest table setting. Coming up with a theme might be tough, but just think of what who you’ve invited over for dinner. Are your gramps and grams going to be attending? Then you’ll probably opt for something more classic and you can ditch the overflow of glitter.
2. Make lists
A theme is the perfect guideline to stick to, just make sure you don’t go shopping without a grocery list or else you’re going to come back with a ton of unnecessary decorations. Think of what you really need, jot it down on a list and scratch ‘em off once it’s complete.
3. Keep it clean
Decorating your table with a bunch of shimmer and shine is always fun, but just remember you need room to serve the food. If you’re table is completely decked out in candles and other accessories, you won’t have any room for pots and pans. So keep your table clean, use just the right amount of accessories and self-made additions.
4. Make it personal
Personal additions are always the best. Hand written menu’s, self-made name tags, labels for wine glasses. Whatever you’d like. Just make sure you take the time to put in the effort to make it nice rather than rushing to a random store and buying any random stickers you can find.
5. Let it go
Now I’m not saying you’re supposed to ignore all the points above. In the contrary. I’m just saying it’s okay to not steer off from your theme a small bit. Sometimes there are certain things you need but you can’t find at stores so you just have to give it your own creative twist. Which is completely okay. Nobody knows about your initial so they’ll have no idea that you switched things up in the process.
