Do’s and don’ts for beautiful skin

If I were to eat takeout from the Chinese restaurant around the corner for a couple of days, I can wait for pimples on my chin and nose (that’s where they are, never anywhere else). The same goes for Zwitsal baby products. If I rub that stuff on my head or anywhere else, I wake up the next day with very odd-looking red spots. Which is a real bummer because Zwitsal baby salve smells soooo good. Babies in general smell really good. I want babies. Sorry, back to my skin. I’ve tried thousands of creams in my lifetime, because my face is my problem area. Dermatologist Jetske Ultee was my savior and now I use her products religiously every day, morning and night. It’s an elaborate process so you need to make time for it, but I’ve been told my skin looks peachy these days.

In addition to cleansing your skin very thoroughly and using the right creams for your skin type, you can help everything along by getting enough sleep (it really helps) and proper nutrition. Here are my dos and don’ts:

Do’s

  • Eat lots of berries (blueberries, cranberries, goji berries, raspberries and blackberries).
  • Try to start your day with a green smoothie more often.
  • Pomegranate is said to be a miracle cure.
  • Carrots, they contain antioxidants and beta carotene, which protect against UV radiation.
  • Avocado contains loads of vitamin E and makes your skin very happy.

Don’ts

  • Alcohol. Nothing new I should think.
  • Fried stuff. So if you end up drunk in a snack bar after that night on the town, you know what I’m talking about.
  • Coffee. Drink in moderation if you can’t leave it.
  • Sugar, try to eat few refined sugars like doughnuts and waffles and stuff.
