FIRST AID FOR SPOTS

Okay. So we’re honest with each other right? As I’m writing this, my nose is becoming irritatingly red because a nasty blind pimple making it’s way to the surface. I know I’m the guilty party because I’ve had loads of toffees and chocolates over Christmas. And I’ve been to bed a few times without cleansing. So this is my immediate punishment.

Now because there is a huge chance that you’ve followed the same path as me during the last few days, and because you too may have a red jewel on the tip of you nose, cheek or forehead, I’m sharing the First Aid for Spots with you.

Dont push

Unless there is, all cute men should stop reading NOW, a white head on it. Then you’ll have to act. Take a needle, disinfect with alcohol (I don’t mean the leftover vodka either, but 100% pure alcohol from the the pharmacy), prick the top of the spot and then gently coax it out. To prevent infection elsewhere, use a tissue wrapped around your fingertips and treat it with disinfectant afterwards. And then leave it alone, promise?

Aspirin

Aspirin, a tip from the professionals. Grind it down finely and mix with water. Use a cotton bud and apply the aspirin mix to the spot. Repeat several times. After an hour you’ll see the redness disappear and the spot diminish in size. Seriously! Leco even uses the aspirin trick to tighten pores. A good idea for after a short night when you need to shine.

Anti blemish solutions from Clinique

I always have at least two bottles at home, really the very best stuff for treating an emergency pimple. It’s so good that you’re almost happy to have one so you can treat it.

Benzac gel

This gel exfoliates the top layer of the skin and slows down acne bacteria. Also perfect for inflamed skin on the back or cleavage.

Exfoliant from Uncover

This one also removes the top layer of the skin to prevent clogging and it keeps your skin glowing.

If all these things don’t help you, I suggest paying a visit to Jetske Ultee. She has a solution to every problem.
