4x more volume
Look, if we were all born with a head full of hair like Beyoncé (she wasn’t really) along with a fan for that full blowing effect you would not hear me complain. Being attached to extensions or other guest-hair is just too much trouble. But how do we get instant volume? That’s what I wanted to know when I visited my friends at the
Building AMS (for the 5th million time this week) so they could tell me how to easily fix my volume problem.
Huh? I thought you only used this if you didn’t want to wash your hair? Like after a hangover. Nope. Dry shampoo can be used to stiffen up your hair giving it an extra coat. Hair stylist Adriana says: Don’t comb it out. My favorite is the one by Andrélon.
With powder the effect is even stronger than with dry shampoo. You just use a little at the roots and rub it in. You immediately feel your hair become stiffer and more voluptuous. Yoeri used Power Grip by Redken on my hair. I repeat: too much of this stuff and you’ll create the Cruella de Ville-effect. Ask Jet, she’s been there.
We all know this ancient trick. But there are a few steps to follow. Start backcombing right at the roots. I hear you thinking: well duh! But wait, don’t work in a straight line from top to bottom, you need to turn. Like drawing a crescent. According to Adriana the Mason Pearson de maxima is the brush of all brushes.
What? Yep you heard me. Part your hair in a different place than you usually do. Like on the right side instead of the middle. The hair jumps up and looks fuller.
If everything in life were this simple we wouldn’t have to worry about that upcoming frown. Sigh….
