HAIR TRENDS
that will get you noticed
The universe of fashion is a funny place isn’t it? Sometimes they throw in a trend that makes you think: “ Are you for real?” It’s up to you to follow course or to abort. Eye-catching is the word to describe these trends.
Bobby pins
First we do our utmost to hide them; now they’re out in the open, visible they’re hot. Take a string of hair, grease it with gel and fasten it to the side of your head using at least ten bobby pins. If Rihanna can do it, you can, right?
Jenny from the block
A friend of mine who’s a hairstylist at, among other things, the Paris and Milan Fashion Weeks, already said this a few months ago; “ We’re going back to the ghetto baby!” Remember the ‘I’m real’-clip with J.Lo an Ja Rule? Our oh-still-an-ordinary-girl diva had her baby hair glued to her head. When ghetto meets fashion: all of a sudden it’s catwalk hair. Even our Doutzen was in for it during the Givenchy-show. Well it’s a ‘different’ look don’t you think?
Braid over the middle of your head
Like this one; a narrow braid that goes straight down the middle. We saw it on Kate Bosworth during Coachella. Lovely girl, lovely hair.
The tuft
I remember seeing a lot of German women wearing a tuft, you could spot them in an instant. At the time I didn’t consider it very sexy so the tuft and I didn’t really see eye to eye. But ever since my all-time favorite woman, Scarlett Johanson started the year with a very cool tuft we’ve overcome our differences, understand?
Two braids
Yep, you read right; two kindergarten braids have the okay. I normally only wear my hair like this when skiing because in spite of my skis I want to look like a cool snowboard chick. But if Lily Aldridge is wearing her hair like this, it’s good to go girls. Like to the beach for example. Move over fishtail!
