the victoria’s secret show is upon us

this is going to help you through it

The countdown has begun: the Victoria’s Secret show is on its way. Instagram is slowly but surely being bombarded with pictures of the Angels and their killer bodies and we can’t help but look at ‘em. For anyone who finds themselves in a slump after watching the show like me, here are a few guidelines how to pull through it.

work out

Clearly you’re not going to be locking yourself up in a gym eight times a week for two hours with a personal trainer like the Angels do, but working out a few times a week won’t hurt you. That way you can validate that you are at least doing something and that if you really wanted to, you can look exactly like those girls on the runway.

emphasize your joys in life

If there is something the VS girls are not allowed to do then it’s indulging in feasts and spend nights on end barhopping. And that just so happens to be the two things you love doing most. So make reservations at your favorite restaurants, gather your closest group of gal pals to paint the town red and just be happy that you are capable of living your life without the insane pressure of having to parade around in your underwear for the entire world to see.

separate yourself from the situation

Delete Instagram, delete Facebook and while you’re at it, just delete internet entirely. But if that’s a bit too drastic for you then just do yourself a favor and stop following the models that’ll be taking part in the show.

put yourself in their shoes

Clearly I don’t mean this in the literal sense. Just realize that there are only a mere amount of men who actually enjoy sharing the bed with women with their posture. And that there are very few women who actually have bodies like that. You’re looking at the occasional exceptions, not the norm.

be realistic

No one is born with a killer body like the VS girls and it is all a result of working out like no other combined with drastic diets. So just get rid of all those “ooohh I wish I looked like that too” frustrations cause trust me, it’s not what you want. Perhaps for a little while, but that’s not how it works. So enjoy those extra few cookies, open up another bottle of wine, because those are the things that make life more thrilling than having a size zero waist. Really.
