HOW TO DO YOUR HAIR
– Criss-cross half up –
Seen at Céline and Thakoon and a favourite look of Jennifer Lopez and Sylvie Meis. We’re talking about the ‘half up’. As of now, you’re favourite too because there is nothing worse than hair hanging in your face. No more problem with this half-up style. There are of course several variations, like the ring from Céline or the braid from Thakoon. Or leave it a little messier, without losing the chic vibe.
What do you need?
Yes, there they are again, those bobby pins. Must-haves for in your bag. You will also need some hairspray to help keep it all in place. Not too much though, otherwise it will become one big sticky mess. Hairspray does allow you to create that messy look too. It doesn’t matter whether you have long or short hair. Only the front pieces shouldn’t be too short so they can be tied together.
How to do it?
This time we’re doing the criss-cross half up. Yes correct, they name says it all. The front locks should be criss crossed over each other and pinned to the head. How to do it? Take the front pieces at eye height and twist them back and fasten. Don’t forget to turn the bobby pins backwards once you have inserted them. If you don’t they won’t stay in tightly and you need them to with this look. If you have done it correctly, you should still have a few loose tendrils since you started at eye height. Separate these loose sections in two. Take the left or right section and work it backwards, twist over the already clipped back pieces. Securely fasten with a bobby pin. Then repeat with the other side. Keep going with the underneath section, see below. Done.
