HOW TO GET THROUGH THE DAY

– without a flushed complexion –

During a job interview, a first date or other exciting events red spots or flushes are unwanted and very discomforting. But everyone gets a red flush once in a while, an extreme red nose, red veins on the cheeks or a red neck. This is how to handle red spots so you will keep your nerves throughout the day (on the outside anyway).

JUMP FOR COVER

Red spots are of course very annoying, so find a good way to camouflage them. The easiest way is a foundation, preferably a compact foundation. They include extra camouflage and a matte powder to give you  the best cover up.

CC CREAM

The CC in CC cream stands for: color correcting. These creams contain color correcting substances that neutralize the skin tone. If you have matte skin it’s more opted to shine or be bothered by red spots, the cream corrects this as well. The CC cream attends to the needs of your skin.

GREEN IS GREAT

The magic powder balls by Guerlain are  little colored balls with among then the green ones. Smashbox has a green primer. Why? Green id the opposite of red so it takes the red out of your skin.

SPIDER VEINS

Redness isn’t only caused by nerves, it can also by caused by products. And then there are spider or thread veins on the side of your nose, cheeks, forehead or chin. Sometimes there are moments when these spots are fierce and sometimes you can hardly see them. It can go either way. For short term solutions you can choose from those mentioned above but long term solutions are tricky; I understand

how annoying these spots can be. So always use soft products without soap ans stay away from products that contain alcohol. It’s important to keep your cleansing as mild as possible. Furthermore you have to watch out for changing  temperatures, they only inflict redness.

POWDER OFF

Even if you’ve been using a generous amount of foundation,  used a green primer and concealer you need to finish it all off with a powder. It will keep everything in place and it’s more difficult for a red spot to peep through.

ICE CUBE TRICK

A red blotted face? Suck on an ice cube. As a reaction to the coldness in your mouth your nerves receive a signal to narrow your blood vessels. Try it because wide blood vessels cause redness and narrow ones don’t.
