Kitchen cabinet Blonde

The summer is endless paddling, terraces and beaches and it sounds like there’s hardly any time for you to visit the salon for a new hair color. You don’t have to; your kitchen cabinet contains sufficient highlight material.

Tea-time

To lighten up a few shades tea is the main ingredient. Especially chamomile, black or rooibos tea can bring out the blondie in you. Chamomile is best because it has that golden glow. It depends on the length of your hair to determine how many teabags are needed, for long hair it’s about five. Put all the bags in water and leave them in until you’ve made a nice strong tea. Let it cool then drop your hair in the bowl for five minutes or so and then let it sun dry. The warmth of the sun will activate the chamomile and lighten up your hair.

Beer

If you’re out on the terrace anyway… Beer isn’t just good to boost up the volume, it lightens the hair and gives it a nice shine.

honey and lemon

Lemons, this will not surprise you, everyone used to do this while sunbathing. But they dry out your hair so it’s not the healthiest option though lemons do give results. You can mix some lemon juice with honey, which does have those necessary nourishing elements. Honey also contains hydrogen peroxide. Yes it’s sticky so mix it with warm water or vinegar and add few drops of lemon.

cinnamon

Dark hair dries out easily when exposed to lighteners, even if it’s only the sun. Unfortunately you don’t get the Gisele Bundchen look, you get the salt and pepper effect. Cinnamon is the answer to making a subtle switch from dark to lighter without turning orange. Cinnamon is harmless; if you’re not light enough after the first treatment just do it again.
