Let these cool girls inspire your summer reads
Now that summer is finally upon us it’s always a noble goal to try and read as many books as you can during those lovely lazy days somewhere under the sun. But where to begin? Of course there are the obvious best sellers list. But maybe these cool girls can inspire you with their favorite reads.
Victoria Beckham’s favorite novel is the classic How To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. In fact the fashion designer and former Spice Girl loves the book so much she named her only daughter after the author.
“A Supposedly Fun Thing I’ll Never Do Again, a book of essays by David Foster Wallace. One is about a cruise that turns out to be terrible. It’s delightfully astute”, says Zooey Deschanel about her favorite read.
When Kate Moss turned 30, she hosted one heck of a birthday party, and she modeled the theme after her favorite novel, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s The Beautiful and the Damned. The supermodel wore a blue sequined dress that looked as if it came right out of the Jazz Age. Many tabloids reported that party got a bit out of hand with drugs and debauchery.
The Most of Nora Ephron by Nora Ephron, the renowned author and screenwriter who gave us When Harry Met Sally, Sleepless in Seattle and You’ve Got Mail, is one of Lena Dunham’s greatest darlings on her book shelf.
The Duchess of Cambridge’s favorite book is Anne of Green Gables by L.M. Montgomery. It seems that adventurous and imaginative Anne – the orphan girl that goes to live on a farm – made a big impression on Kate growing up. In 2011 she specifically asked to visit Prince Edward Island, where the book is set, on a trip to Canada.
Remember Kendall and her little sister Kylie put out a sci-fi novel last year titled Rebels: City Of Indra: The Story Of Lex And Livia? No worries, almost no one does as the book the reality sisters wrote with help of a ghost writer was a big flop. Kendall Jenner names the classic novel Animal Farm by George Orwell as her favorite read of all time.
