My friend and I made a bet that we wouldn’t buy anything for a whole month. What a challenge. It was all going surprisingly well until Jet and Liesbeth posted something about a Shoebaloo-outlet. For me this was like a carrot in front of a horse. So as part of the challenge I went to the store to see if I could resist temptation. I couldn’t. The result? This KENZO bag. ‘ I really needed a new bag for my laptop’, was my somewhat guilty explanation to my boyfriend. Yeah right…

The rest of what you see has been mine for a while; the pants are Citizens of Humanity. The blouse is H&M, the vest River Island and the shoes, by &Other Stories, were a birthday gift from my friend. (Nope. Doesn’t count as a new purchase).

Starting now I won’t buy anything anymore. I promise. Wait. Did you see these cute heels?. They cost almost nothing….

Ik had dus een afspraak met mijn vriend om een maand niets te kopen. Gewoon als een soort van challenge. Dat ging wonderbaarlijk goed totdat Jet & Lies iets postten over de nieuwe Shoebaloo-outlet. Kijk, dan plant je bij mij een zaadje. Als ultieme test gniepte ik naar de winkel om te kijken of ik al het lekkers kon weerstaan. Het niet zo verrassende antwoord resulteerde in dit Kenzo– exemplaar. “Ik had echt een nieuwe laptoptas nodig hoor”, pleitte ik ietwat zondig naar mijn vriend. Yeah right…

Welnu, de rest had ik al ‘een tijdje’. De broek van Citizens of Humanity kocht ik deze winter bij één van mijn favoriete winkels in mijn hometown Nijmegen. Nee, die provincie is zo slecht nog niet. Sterker nog; de beste items uit mijn kast scoor ik vaak niet eens in Amsterdam. Het bloesje is van H&M en het hesje van River Island. De schoentjes van & Other Stories kreeg ik onlangs van een vriendinnetje voor mijn verjaardag. Dus die telt niet eens mee als nieuwe aankoop.

Vanaf nu koop ik even écht niets meer. Alhoewel, ik zie net weer heel leuke muiltjes voorbij komen voor een prik…
