Louis Vuitton Cruise Collection in Palm Springs

California is hot. Tom Ford chose Los Angeles to launch his new collection and this week Louis Vuitton presented their cruise collection in Palm Springs. Which was unanimously well received. The home of legendary comic Bob Hope was the decor for this special show. A futuristic building that’s been on the market for some time (asking price $50 million) and is now occasionally being used for events. Everybody who is anybody was on the guest list: Kanye West, Selena Gomez, Michelle Williams, Marisa Tomei, Catherine Deneuve and Charlotte Gainsbourg.

It was a collection of contrasts: Hot pants versus maxi-skirts. Leather contrasting transparents. And silk looks with leather details. The model opening the show was the Dutch Rianne van Rompaey, later joined by other Dutchie Maartje Verhoef.

One day I hope to experience a show like this; in the case of Louis Vuitton you are guaranteed to see a spectacular collection with everything down to the smallest detail perfectly portrayed. Totally in style with the cruise collection Louis Vuitton had placed claw game machines (like the ones at a fair) so that visitors could try and win an LV wallet. How cool is that!

Enough written, time to look; here are pics of the whole show. So drop what you’re doing and take a 16-minute break to feast your eyes. Enjoy!
