May is going to ibiza
When you’re reading this I’ll be at the airport dragging my beau and the kids into the plane (well he can fend for himself of course). We’re off to sunny Ibiza with temperatures of at least 21 degrees for a stay at a beautiful house at walking distance from San José (with Wi-Fi, pool and outdoor kitchen). My suitcase is holding all my Ibiza essentials. And there’s nothing more fun than nosing about in someone else’s suitcase. So I’ll tell you what’s in mine.
Sisley suntan lotion
The greatest suntan lotion I’ve ever had. Since use I’ve never it I’ve never had a rash (before that I’d burst after my second rose) and my tan is smoother and lasts longer. The whole family is treated to it. I tell my girls that the queen uses this to protect her princesses from the sun and they all obediently and patiently let me apply it. Sisley also has this super brown stick that you can use as a foundation to hide your burnt nose or forehead while lying on the beach at Cala Jondal.
Denim shorts
You can never go wrong. Not on Ibiza. Daytime; I combine the shorts with my bikini top and espadrilles. At night; it’s my Chloé top (nice and wide to accommodate all that delicious food) and heels. I bought the shorts at J Crew in New York when it was minus 20 degrees (Celsius). So you can imagine that I’ve been looking forward to wearing these for ages. And this is the moment!

my Joseph-dress
On the hanger it looks like a safe bet but once on it’s super sexy. I’ll shoot a Look Of The Day this week so you can see for yourself.
Chanel-espadrilles
Almost every great designer has a pair of espadrilles this year. Jet is on the waiting list for the Louis Vuittons, Josselin is fantasizing about the Kenzo’s and Liesbeth stood next to me drooling over the Dolce & Gabbana ‘s. But I have my good old Chanels with me. Still very cool.
don’t forget your toothbrush
This is the Sergio Rossi of toothbrushes. Handy and efficient. At home it recharges in it’s glass induction stand. Away from home it lasts two weeks if fully charged or you can use the travel cord. Smile.
sunglasses
Ibiza is overdoing it, just a little. So my green Fendis are a sure thing. Perfect match with my Joseph dress I think. Oh and recently I received these blue Chanels, brought them along too. They’re cool and light, ideal for hot sunny days.
reading material
I hardly ever get around to reading at the pool with three children without their swimming diploma. Let alone read a book that requires huge amounts of concentration. I prefer a light read. That’s why this novel by Rick Nieman about a young Yves Saint Laurent and a young Karl Lagerfeld (did you know they were once in a relationship together?) is the perfect read. My father just finished reading it and said he shed a tear at the end, mmm promising.
parfume
I love choosing a special perfume for a holiday so that every time I smell it that’s what I think of. I’m going for Sel Marin by Heely. It smells of salt and sea, coincidently the essence of Ibiza.
