MAY IS in love
CRUSHin’ on the CROSSOVER
When a couple is expecting their first born, the woman suddenly has the urge for a deep home cleanse (when I found myself cleaning the toilet water reservoir, I knew for a fact that I was pregnant) and a man usually buys a new car.
When I was about seven months pregnant, my car broke down. Luckily I had already made it to my destination and it wasn’t anything too severe, but from that moment on we needed a new car and before I knew it, we were standing at some lame showroom looking at even more lame station wagons.
Luckily my hubby and I had the same opinion that a kid + station car = you can’t get more civil than this, so we headed over to a more interesting showroom and left as the happy new owners of a big fat jeep. Safe, roomy, yet still very cool.
Just like with clothes, food (when’s the last time you devoured nachos and guac at a party. Exactly) and drinks (I can hardly dare order another rosé…), there are also trends linked to cars. Nowadays everyone finds station wagons to be too frumpy but that jeep, it really is very passé. It’s horrible for the environment and the price tag that comes along with it is just too high. Anytime I’m pumping gas I think about all the exquisite 4 course meals I could have had for the exact same price.
Luckily my hubby and I had the same opinion that a kid + station car = you can’t get more civil than this.
Station out, jeep passé, enter the crossover. And since it’s my job to stay on trend and give everything a test run, a brand new Renault Kadjar was dropped off at our office yesterday. That alone was quite a launch since how often are new types of cars released anyway? We always see updates from different types and versions of specific models, but a brand new vehicle…. It hardly happens.
The Kadjar crossover has a ton of space, a real family car, and the seating is a little higher than usual (which is ideal for people of my posture cause it gives you a better overview on the road) and it is way cooler than your average family car. Our love is still blossoming, but I can already tell you that the smooth drive of this Renault and the roof top window giving me even more light is going to help me get through this fall depression I can tell ya. Not a fan of light? Then just by the click of a button you can cover it.
Since you will never have more cars than you do handbags, it’s wise to opt for something pliable. I want a car I can use when I’m off to do things with my family, but I also want a car that looks good when I decided to hit the town with friends. Flexible if you will. And that is precisely what this Kadjar is. But hey, I could have guessed it. They gave it the name crossover for a reason…
