For those of you who haven’t heard of Marlies Dekkers before, she is the Dutch queen of lingerie. Celebrities like Britney Spears are amongst her list of clients. So clearly, her bag was one we were dying to have a look at. So what does a lingerie maven carry around in her bag?

how many designer bags do you own?

‘Guilty! I have such a weak spot for shoes and bags. I can bump into a bag, fall in love with it, and then do everything I can to own it. So all in all, I have a way too many.’

what’s the story behind this beauty?

‘I had a trip planned to Finland. During this trip I walked past a Chanel boutique. I had been so busy prepping for this trip and was in a complete ‘Finland-zone’ and this bag just topped it all off. It was love at first sight and the love is still very much present and beaming.’

what does a bag do for a woman?

‘I find that a bag combines beauty and functionality.’

what are the perfect qualities of a bag?

‘Beauty, beauty beauty. That’s how I select my bags. Which often leads to some unpractical choices.’

how well do you take care of your bags? are you someone who dumps them in a corner somewhere or do you always carefully place them back into their dust bags?

‘I think the beauty of a bag can be find in its stories and adventures. Like that time you take it with you to Amnesia in Ibiza and you stuff it under your table, dance until the wee hours of the morning, and when you grab your bag to go home it’s covered in cocktail spills, but you’re elated either way. Those are the kinds of memories bags can have and ones you’ll never forget. It might not be the best way to take care of your bags, but I find it to be the most valuable.’

and what about the inside of your bags? are you chaotic or a neat freak?

‘I switch up the bags I use very often. I usually keep all the small things in a small Chanel make up bag so when I switch bags, that’s all I have take out of one and put into the other.’

What do you always carry around in your bag?

‘Condoms and mints.’
