Oreo is the new black

All I have to do is open Instagram and I am bombarded with pictures of Oreo’s. There’s just something about those cookies. I happen to follow a lot of foodies on Insta which isn’t really surprising, but even my favorite fitties (as I like to call them) are in their kitchens making cake, ice cream and breakfast out of Oreo’s. What’s going on? Have Oreo’s become the new avocado’s? Even May-Britt said she secretly enjoys dipping her Oreo’s in some nutella. OKAY, MAY.

You would think that Oreo’s wouldn’t really be getting all those fitties hot and bothered, but they do. So I decided to get some insight from a Dutch bundle of steel and food blogger to ask what not to do if you want to walk around with a six pack on the beach next summer. And why everyone was suddenly so into Oreo’s?! Am I supposed to start stocking up on ‘em? Cause that sure is what it seems like.

1.    “This is their way of showing that they too eat cookies every now and then which isn’t something crazy, but crazy enough for them to have to explain themselves.”

2.    “It’s the perfect combination of crunchy and soft and sweet and salty.”

3.    “53 calories a piece.”

4.    “The term Oreo derives from the Latin word ‘orios’ which mean delight. Speaks for itself.”

5.     “Reason number 4 is complete BS, but reason enough to give them a try anyway.”

Alright, I guess this has made me slightly wiser. Oh and for those of you who might want to know, Oreo’s are vegan too. So guys, if you want to fit in with all the fit foodies (aka fitties), indulge in some Oreo’s and then head straight on through to your local gym.
