6 REASONS NOT TO WEAR A BRA

Because it’s the best feeling in the world

Since I haven’t been blessed with breasts like Kate Upton, it does happen fairly often that I leave home without a bra. And I love it. Bigger-breasted friends don’t get that or they are simply jealous, but flat-chested peers often don´t understand it at all either. Which I don´t get, because not wearing a bra is the best thing in the world, for the following reasons.

1. Freedom
FREEDOM. In Caps lock, for sure. Because freedom is the biggest argument in favour of braless days. No harness around your body that is always just too tight no matter how great and expensive your bra. It feels like freedom if your girlfriends can also be relaxed in your clothes.

2. You can wear complicated dresses
Dresses with a plunging neckline or an open back, everything goes. A year ago, I discovered a kind of sticky label to keep things in their proper place so we can say life is now perfect.

3. No unpleasant pressure points on your shoulders
When I wear a bra, I always get a kind of cramp at one point because the thing is so uncomfortable. I like to compare it to wearing a backpack all day long. It´s fun for nobody. 

4. No ugly marks on your skin
I hate them, those marks that appear everywhere. “You must be wearing an ill-fitting bra,” is the usual objection but it happens to me with every bra, from very expensive to very cheap. 

5. It makes your breasts firmer
Or so it is said. Research by a French university examined the breasts of 330 women, part of which wore no bra and the other part did. Those who didn’t wear a bra had firmer breasts than those who did. “The findings suggest that breasts would gain more tone and support themselves if no bra was used. Bras limit the growth of supporting breast tissues, leaving the breast to wither and degrade more quickly.” In short, your breasts get lazy when you wear a bra and start to sag. Throw the thing out!

6. It means your day is over
I often don’t wear a bra all day long but say that I have a bra day, there is nothing better than coming home at the end of your working day and taking the thing off first thing. Have you seen the show New Girl? The character Jess, played by actress Zooey Deschanel, once was out of a job for a while and spoke the following memorable words: “My boobs are loving this unemployed thing. They don’t have to go to boob jail every day!”
