spotting celebs on the slopes
Last week at the office the topic of skiing was brought up. For years my family and I, along with some family friends, would travel to Les Gets, a little ski village in the French Portes du Soleil. The last few years I’ve hardly spent any time on the slopes for whatever reason and I secretly miss it quite a bit because skiing is hella fun. And I’ve got the rich and famous to back me up, because there is nothing they enjoy more than hitting the slopes in their expensive ski attire. Wanna know where to go to bump into them? Here’s a list of all the go to places.
Lech
Ideal for those who are hoping to run into some royal blood, because ever since the 1960’s, this is the Dutch royal family’s go to destination for some active runs down the snowy ramps.
St. Moritz
In the Swiss mountains you’ll find St. Moritz. A village in which skiing isn’t nearly as important as being seen. Big names like Charlie Chaplin and Marlene Dietrich are some of the people you could easily bump into, and now they’ve been replaced with the Swedish royal family, Angela Merkel, Robbie Williams and Madonna.
Aspen
A beautiful skiing village in the beautiful Colorado mountains. Aspen might just be the ultimate place to spot celebrities, hence the reason the prices for this place have gone through the roof. Thank you Goldie Hawn, Kate Hudson, Charlie Sheen, Cameron Diaz and Kevin Costner.
Verbier
This popular Swiss skiing destination is located in Les 4 Vallées and is especially suitable for the partiers among us since après-skiing is a huge deal. Now we understand why Prince Harry and Sarah Ferguson enjoy coming here.
Zermatt
Onto another Swiss pearl: Zermatt. With a car-free city center (how chic) and an impeccable view of the Matterhorn. Phil Collins, Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt, Madonna and Kate Middleton agree.
Sölden
When you think of Tirol you might think of everything tacky (like people chugging down beers) rather than glitter and glamour but ever since Sölden was used in the newest James Bond movie Spectre, it’s well on the rise.
