First aid for on the terrace
I don’t know about you but I spent most of my weekend caféing on a sun kissed terrace. Lounging about on an outside terrace behind one of those little tables requires some preparation. Hard work, summer.
Mega shawl
Yesterday the temperatures were pleasant, although it did cool down at the end of the day. A large shawl is ideal as not all terraces have cover-ups or heaters, if you can do the use-my-plaid-as-a-shawl-trick you can stay warm till the bitter end.
Extra sweater
That shawl may not be enough besides someone else may have forgotten to bring something along, than you can be their savior.
flats
It’s best to wear them and not bring them. Hanging around is easier when you can pull your legs up or tuck them under you, this way you can drape yourself into a flattering pose.
sunglasses
Because duh. Without a need for sunglasses it’s no day to visit a terrace. Make sure to wear shades that don’t show your eyes so you can shamelessly watch people.
sun lotion
I don’t burn easily but if you have one of those skin types that is short on the pigment it’s best to protect yourself. Not only beforehand, keep it on, bring the whole tube. It might seem a bit overdone but you do burn faster when sitting out in the sun all day.
change
For me it’s a visit to the vending machine (ciggies) but for non-smokers it comes in handy for tips or street musicians.
To top it off
Don’t forget to get up once in a while. Sitting in the sun drinking can make you feel dizzy, if you get up at the end of the day you could fall over. And uhm, drink water to keep those alcohol levels in check.
