– The 10 best makeover movies –
When discussing guilty pleasures watching romcoms –romantic comedies- are at the top of my list. Preferably those high school movies that I’m able to double word for word after having seen them at least 15 times. They are great time killers and just go down so deliciously smooth. And don’t forget; watching clichés is the best part of these movies. Films that show high school nerds turned into princesses makes my little beauty heart beat faster. I bet your does too.
I looked at Lindsay Lohan in this movie so pure and adorably cute, it seemed like Botox hadn’t even been invented yet. Starting off as a country girl she was dragged into the whole popularity mess by ‘The Plastics’. But she didn’t become a Barbie she stood her ground with that pretty little head of hers she had back then.
Hilary Duff was always the prettiest one in the picture because the evil stepmother had overdone it on Botox; anyway, someone had to tell this Cinderella story. So there she was in ragged jeans and hand-me-downs cleaning away and ending up in a gorgeous dress as belle of the ball.
A little less high school but certainly makeover-proof; Eliza Doolittle, played by Audrey Hepburn, moved up from being a poor girl from a bad neighborhood to a lady among the high society aristocracy complete with lipstick, jewels and perfect rolling ‘r’ s.
I admit it, I’ve never seen this movie because it’s kindda old but according to my colleague this film is one of the classics. Girl nerd gets her braces taken out, loses her glasses and turns into the prettiest girl in school. And the father has a rough time handling the situation as daughter dear apparently goes a little wild.
One of the cutest high school movies ever made is about the makeover of the ‘clueless’ Brittany Murphy, a skater girl that is ‘adopted’ by the most popular girls of Beverly Hills. The outfits are to die for, the one-liners epic; just so you know if you are one of the few who have missed this movie. ….
The classic story of a boy turning an unattractive girl into ‘the belle of the ball’ all in the name of a bet. A bit cheesy because the girl has a ponytail and glasses and when they go overboard she just happens to be very pretty. It’s as simple as that these days.
Before my audience with the queen I watched this movie in preparation. Cause hey, no one gets a better makeover than the princess of Genovia and there were some tips in there that I definitely used during my royal visit.
It seems Anne Hathaway has the word ‘makeover’ written on her forehead as she goes through them pretty well in movies. Just as in The Devil Wears Prada. The ‘fat girl’ becomes a woman of the world of fashion who effortlessly maneuvers towards the devil herself. Crocs are exchanged for Loubou’s and Mason Peason is run through her hair. My favorite film because it’s just a tad recognizable for me personally.
Another favorite among the Amayzine clan; it doesn’t get more makeover than this. This movie changes Julia Roberts from a street prostitute into a real lady complete with eye candy and designer dresses.
We think this movie is hilarious. Police officer Gracie Hart, masterfully played by Sandra Bullock, goes undercover as a miss at a beauty pageant. The necessary preparations have to be made as she snorts like a pig when laughing, doesn’t know what a brush is and has a thing or two to learn when it comes to posture. And low and behold those miss contestants suddenly have some serious competition.
