THE WEEK THAT WAS
in 5 snacks
Charlene is our manager here at Amayzine.com and she has a real love for the world of entertainment. Every week she fills us in with the sweetest snacks of what’s happening, where it’s happening and to who.
Caitlyn’s big night
It’s all about Caitlyn Jenner these days. The eyes of the world are focused on her day and night. And this week we heard something from the woman herself. During the ESPY Awards the former Olympic champion was awarded for her ‘bravery and courage shown in the sports world’. She gave a hell of a speech giving some perspective to the craziness surrounding her persona these days. What made the evening even more special was that – with the exception of Rob Kardashian – all of her children were present, the K-clan, eldest daughter Cassandra, son Burt, Brendan and Brody. The kids were also emotionally thanked in the acceptance speech, as was her 89 year old mother, who was also present on the night. Caitlyn was wearing a off white evening dress by Atelier Versace. The kids and their significant others went for all black everything.
Whoopi lets Bill Cosby fall
Whoopi Goldberg was about the last celebrity that kept defending Bill Cosby since the allegations of sexual harassment started knocking on the door of doctor Huxtable. Until this week, the actress endured her stance. However in her talk show The View, she concluded that it is very likely that the comedian is actually guilty. “I must say that all the information that is now on the table indicates that he is guilty.” A week earlier reports were released saying that Bill Cosby, under oath, admitted to drugging a woman in 2005. To be continued.
Brody bursts The Hills bubble
It’s a bit like Santa Claus. You know it’s fake, but it’s so much fun to believe in it. The fact that The Hills was “scripted”, that we knew, but the love was real, right? What? No! Brody Jenner bursts the beloved The Hills bubble this week by revealing in an interview with Yahoo that he hadn’t had a real relationship with anyone from the cast. “That was the hardest. Supposedly I’d gone to bed with Audrina, Lauren or whoever else. I was called a male whore and I couldn’t do anything to defend myself. I couldn’t tell you that it was all fake, and had to just let the accusations keep on coming.” The only romance that really had taken place was with Kirsten Cavallari, but that was already done before filming of The Hills began.
Sisterlove by Balmain
This week Balmain launched a spectacular new campaign for the coming fall with three pairs of power sisters. Kendall and Kylie Jenner, Gigi and Bella Hadid and Joan Smalls and Erika. Chief designer Olivier Rousteing wanted to pay homage to the unconventional love between brothers and sisters. The brothers Armando and Fernando Cabral also make an appearance in the campaign. In any case, Kris and Yolanda can give each other a high-five.
Calling all Angels
Earlier in April, Victoria’s Secret already announced the heavenly arrival of 10 new Angels. This week it was the official presentation of the new generation. “Your first look at #TheNewestAngels” writes Victoria’s Secret on Instagram next to a photo with Elsa Hosk, Jac Monika Jagaciak, Martha Hunt, Lais Robeiro and Romee Strijd. Have a safe flight, ladies.
