The secrets of Instagram
Twitter is sooo yesterday and Snapshot might be the new black in digital world; Instagram is still the top Blogging platform. To name a few; Negin Mirsalehi (Negin), Chiara Ferragni (The Blond Salad), Aimee Song (Song of Style) and Julie Sarinana (Sincerely Jewels) have turned Instagram into a day job. Travelling the world and doing just about everything for the right shot. There are a few things you can pick up from them to pimp up your Instagram account.
Haste makes waste
It happens to a lot of beginning Instagrammers. They post as they do on Facebook. Facebook is allowed to have unpolished shots because it’s supposed to offer an insight into someone’s real life, that’s not the way it works on Instagram. Make a pretty picture. Move some plates, drape bags, throw in a few rose petals or even light a candle in the background. A good instagram shot is a mini style event that was made with a lot of attention to detail.
Give your account it’s own atmosphere
Look at the summary of your account critically. Do the images go together, do they blend or is there only contrast? In order to be follow-able it’s best to make sure your posts ooze the same atmosphere and hold their own signature. Queen of Jetlags for example travels all over the world (hence the name), regularly showing the wing a plane in her photos. Our Jet posts beautiful tables with food people are ready to dive into, that’s her signature look. Josselin is all about black and white. With Lisbeth there’s always her cat and me you can always see my laptop in some beautiful place or one of my little girl’s feet slipping in a designer shoe.

Anyone who calls herself an Insta-girl has her own apps to Photoshop her pictures. The standard Insta-filters are way to easy. You must know a lot of work goes into a post. Sometimes it takes up to an hour of tweaking.

We plead guilty as we all write in our native language because we believe we are funnier or can express ourselves better. But if you want to conquer the world; it has to be English. Take care to add good #hashtags. bloggers usually have their own, or use a temporary one like we’re doing now #amayzinedoesmilan.
