LONGER HAIR? YES PLEASE!
Long hair. We all want it? Well, at least I do and I have waited forever for the locks that I now have. Only recently did I have the tiniest of trims because the ends were completely dead and there were definitely some reservations beforehand. With every movement that Youri from The Building salon in Amsterdam made, I yelled not to cut too much off (he hadn’t even picked up his scissors). With every little tuffet of cut hair, I peered solemnly at the ground. I just want to have fresh, long hair and I want it now! How do I do that?
Don’t smoke
Smoking narrows the blood vessels which has an effect on the oxygen supply. That affects not only the brilliance and shine of your hair, but also the growth. No one has ever become happier or healthier from oxygen deficiency. Neither will your hair. So it’s easy…. STOP SMOKING!
Vitamin B
Yes really, vitamin B11 and B12 provide strong nails, good skin and healthy (thus growing) hair. This you can get from a jar. About twice a week I pop one of these tablets. But vitamin B is also found in milk, meat and green vegetables.
Protein
Hair is composed of the protein keratin. If you eat a lot of protein, then your hair will grow faster. But where do we find protein? Naturally in eggs, but there is also lots of protein in nuts, meat, and fish. So it’s nice to know that not only will you be very happy with a piece of salmon, but so will your hair.
Sun
The sun promotes the production of Vitamin D, and this also makes your hair grow faster. Haven’t you ever noticed that your hair seems meters longer after the summer? It is important though that your hair is protected from the sun to avoid dehydration. Otherwise after your beautiful Ibiza holiday you will indeed have a longer mane, but that it has become such a straw broom that it needs to be cut immediately. And that is not what we are aiming for.
Exercise
Does exercise also have an influence on your hair? Yes. It has to do with point 1. Sporting increases your blood supply, encouraging oxygen to circulate to the scalp. And what we have we just learned? Right. No idea how to get started? Fortunately, we have Jet yo help us.
No stress
Stress has a huge impact on your physical condition. There are a lot of people who suffer from stress hair loss. This has to do with the high levels of adrenaline that flow through your body when stressed. The adrenaline is also not easily broken down on your scalp. It then creates lactic acid and that deters growth. Rest and relaxation are so extremely important. But don’t stress, Josselin has some tips for that.
