I am sure you know by now that we have quite the eyebrow fetish. Our brows get waxed by the experts using the necessary brow-bars and we are also not afraid to admit that we dabble with powders and pencils to give things a little more color and better shape. The perfect brow frames your face and is absolutely necessary for a complete groomed look.
.
Personally, I don’t leave the house any more without adding a little color and shape to my brows. I feel naked otherwise. And after a few interviews for the Beauty Q & A (https://amayzine.com/en/features/lets-talk-about-beauty-en/) features I learned that this is simply a no-go for many makeup artists. Previously I used no powder or pencil, but now my toiletry bag is full of them. There is a very good chance that these Smashbox items could be the new addition.
.
What is it?
It is a new brow pencil from Smashbox. Perhaps you know already that all of Smashbox products are created within a specific concept. The idea here is to help everything stay perfectly in place particularly in harsh conditions; hot lights, warm studios and sweaty people. Another major requirement is that it lasts neatly throughout the day without smudging or smearing.
.
What it Promises
In addition this eyebrow pencil is easy to apply and is water, moisture and sweat resistant at the same time. They do their work under high temperatures and under hectic schedules. Sounds like music to my ears.
.
The addiction
My eyebrow fetish started some time ago, but Will Malherbe, makeup artist at Smashbox added fuel to the addiction the minute he put the pencil in my hand. It is very thin, perfect for faking those little hairs and filling in the bare spots. This really works. It has a kind of gel structure, making you think it is easily rubbed off, but it stays on the skin very well giving long lasting result. From August 15 the collection will expand to include four matte pencils, four gloss sticks and two highlight sticks. All designed to draw the perfect eyebrow. Until then this pencil works a treat and is a beauty tool that no one should be without. Afterwards you can build on your expertise with all those other fine products.

Tips and tricks
Lori Taylor Davis, Global Pro Makeup Artist, has some other tips for brows:
– Begin drawing on the brow in a slightly lighter shade and slowly build it up for a more architectural look or keep it more natural.
– Make sure your eyebrow matches the rest of your make up. You do not want to have too much of a contrast. Don’t go over the top with your eyebrows when doing a smoky eye.
– Let your eyebrows be seen at night. Use a glossy stick to give a healthy sheen that gives more depth.
