#TWIZZLER CHALLENGE

Do you remember the Ice Bucket Challenge? Yes it’s a rhetorical question because you must have been out hiking with the Masaï in an unknown part of the world IF this Internet hype has somehow passed you by. All of us were somewhat relieved when the whole show with those buckets of water was over. But it’s been a year now and time for a new challenge. This time Twizzler, those twisted red licorice, play a leading role.

Man taketh a licorice and another person, then each start eating at the opposing ends, eventually you will find your mouths moving closer together at witch point you have to kiss. You know like the spaghetti scene from lady and the tramp. You make a little movie out of it. You nominate people and post it. This stunt is also meant to create awareness for autism.

We’re at the tipping point of this hype becoming viral on social media. But since the beginning of this month when the Twizzler Challenge became official when it appeared at a benefit evening for autism projects at Comedy Central. A selection of Celebs have accepted the challenge which is why, this week, we saw Lena Dunham and Girls-collegue Allison Williams share this treat. They in turn nominated Scandal’s Guillermo Diaz and Katie Lowes. Twizzlers will be making overtime for some time to come. The #twizzlerschallenge is coming. You’ve been warned.
