Uma pulled a zellweger

The dust raised by the Renée Zellweger face-gate had only just settled when another Hollywood star with a heftily renovated face presented herself. OK, this transformation is not as dramatic as Renée’s, but all the same so extensive that we need to dedicate a post on it.

Monday evening Uma Thurman trod the red carpet in New York for the premier of her new series, The Slap. The actress’ appearance instantly became the hot subject of the day, for what in heaven’s name had Uma done with her face? Unrecognisable is somewhat an exaggeration, but you do have to look twice and then you can only conclude that the Kill Bill star has a new face.

It’s difficult as a layman to put a finger on what the exact difference is, and so cosmetic surgeonswho have studied her odd face have been asked to give their opinions in various media. The ironed-out forehead could be due to a classic Botox treatment. According to the experts, she could also have had something done to fill out the bags under her eyes, and apparently fairly recently too since it’s all still a bit swollen. And thus the speculations continue heatedly.

With a hint of wistfulness, we think back on the special unconventional beauty that had made her the muse of Quentin Tarantino and the face of Lancôme, amongst others. But at the same time we hope that Uma herself is well satisfied with her recent home improvements (and that things tighten soon up a bit).
