unboxing is a thing

Not Taylor Swift, not Katy Perry, but the mysterious DC Toys Collector earns the most with her videos on YouTube. According the video analytics site OpenSlate, her videos earned the anonymous woman around 4,9 million euro last year. But what are the videos about is the burning question.

Unboxing
She unpacks boxes of Disney toys and surprise eggs with freshly painted nails and a running commentary. Or, unboxing as it has become known, a phenomenon whereby packages being unpacked are filmed and shared on the worldwide web.

Anything she can do, we can do better
Everyone loves unpacking packages, but we had no idea that it was so wonderful to watch. We receive quite a few packages here. The doorbell rings everyday at Amayzine HQ, at least twice and the postman is always standing there with arms full of boxes. Wonderful new beauty products from a pr-agency or our Asos-, Net-a-porter or Zalando orders. And these boxes are full of far more exciting things than toys.
