I’m going on vacation and I’m bringing: a bikini, sunscreen, dresses, dresses, dresses, a pile of magazines, a book (the only time I ever actually seriously finish a book) and my cell phone. Of course my cell phone. Being on the beach, somewhere abroad, laying in the sun, these are all the right ingredients for picture perfect Instagram snap shots. And to be honest, like the rest of us, I just can’t live without that thing. So I’ve conducted a little survey in the office to find out what everyone’s favorite vacation apps are.

SEATGURU

This one is just so convenient. Pick your own seat on your next flight and get real-time flight alerts.

Weather APP

It seems as though no one can live without this app these days. A little sneak peek every morning of what the weather will be like for the rest of the day. And if lady luck is on our side: sunshine.

7 Minute Workout

When I’m on vacation I love to go for a run, check out a local gym or do some kind of workout on a beach somewhere. I do understand though, that others have absolutely no desire to do this. However, with this convenient little app you get in a short workout leaving you feeling energized. And hey, it’s only 7 minutes from your day and that glass of wine will taste so much better.

Facetune

A well used app by a couple of our interns to edit selfies and portraits. “But you can also use it to make the ocean look more blue in your holiday snaps.” So they say.

App to watch constellations

This is the favorite App form Vera, our design intern. With this app you can see exactly what star constellations you’re standing underneath. Isn’t that romantic?

Wi-Fi Finder

Look, it’s vacation time and being online should not be on top of your list of our priorities (ping, ping, ping, here come all those emails), but of course if it is super important then you want access to Wi-Fi immediately using the Wi-Fi Finder. What’s magical about this app is that it finds Wi-Fi spots while being offline.

TripAdvisor

This faithful old app is always good when searching for a hotel or a restaurant. This app also sees where you are located and uses this to find what you are looking for in the neighborhood you are in. Every hotel and restaurant is reviewed so you can see if the place is really what you are looking.

AroundMe

Looking for a toilet, need to refuel the car, want to find a supermarket or a restaurant, this app let’s you know where the nearest facilities that you are looking for.

audiobooks

Precisely, audiobooks. Sounds pretty relaxing to me; laying back on my deck chair listening to a little pulp fiction. This is also a good go-to app while running or during a brisk walk.

Skype

For those times you want to stay in contact with the home front.

Shortcut Amayzine app

This is a must for every mobile device. One click of a button and you’re on our site. This is how to set it up.
