THE INVITES, NEARLY AS IMPORTANT AS THE DRESS ITSELF
Golden outlines, custom designed envelops, customized illustrations. Everything is possible. The invites have become nearly as important as the dress itself. And in today’s day and age you have to show up with more than just a logo of your first names intertwined. So passé. And since I’m current smack dab in the middle of organizing my own wedding, I’ve done a bit of research to see where you can go if you want to be guaranteed you’ll have the best invite out around town. I’ve discovered an entire new world and to be honest, I don’t know if we’ll be possible to spend an extra 5K on our invites but hey, a girl can dream. So here you go, a few places from the wondrous world of ‘the invite.’
It’ll cost ya, but hey, it’ll be memorable.
From Anna Wintour to the Emmy’s to every future newlyweds who are looking for an invite with a couture edge; Ceci New York is the place to be. Known for her gold imprinted letters, curly fonts, frills and custom made logos. I dropped by the store for a quick peek and everything I saw was divine. Oh and you don’t need an appointment to drop by, so incase you have some free time, drop by Ceci for some invite drooling. Everything is so easy on the eyes.
Fancy Floral, Pretty Parisian, Modern Muse, Dashing Deco; these are only a few things from the gigantic assortment available at East Six. Besides modern designs, East Six also has a variety of classic looks. If you get anything done here, your invites will be everything but boring. The va-va-voom caliber here is sky high. I find the Great Gatsby retro style to be a dream.
Ellen Weldon, the lady who spent her middle school career getting bad grades when it came to her handwriting is now the queen of calligraphy and invite designs. Her style is romantic, powdery colors with matching ribbons. Chic doesn’t even cut it.
Right colors, modern fonts and a bit of cursive here and there. That is what Cheree Berry is known for. Paired with her witty texts. So no more boring RSVP cards. “Sorry, I’m caged can’t make it.”
