WEDDING NAILS WITH A TWIST
Is it me or is everyone getting married? And why are all the magazines exploding with wedding dresses, wedding decorations and wedding etiquette? Not that I mind, my big sister is getting married this summer and as I’m the MC I welcome all inspiration. Maybe that’s the reason this topic seems so apparent to me. Hmmm, I hear my brain racking. Anyhow, and there might be self interest involved (well sister interest) but for all the brides to be I present to you: today’s wedding nails.
This season a lot of hands go au naturel. Something I even find appropriate for a bride in a meringue. Make sure you start well ahead of time using nail hardener, like this one from O.P.I., so your nails will be pretty and strong on the, I mean, your day. If you find this a little boring you can choose a silver lining(or gold) on the nail tips.
White nails are still a hit. I get it as it makes your hand look more tanned and it matches everything. I think white polish is fine for the bride to be but it’s a little boring. Those nails become cool the moment you add a sliver of gold (or silver). You can go horizontal or vertical. Exciting huh?
I’m a fan of colors and especially on your nails. But your wedding day is not the right day for bright yellow or blue. Why not? Because you will look at your wedding pictures 20 years later and ask yourself what possessed you to wear that absurd color. Believe me that hurts. A subtle metallic color on the other hand can look beautiful. Check your dress for accents (gold, silver, pearl) and match your nails to that.
Having solved the nail dilemma it’s now time to worry about the music, the seating plan, the desert, peonies or ordinary roses, photos and how to put a lid on that loud friend of your hub to be? I wish you the best of luck.
