And there I was. Alone and perplexed jabbing my fork into my own wedding cake. In the background I could hear my guests chit chat as they sat seated around the perfectly decorated tables covered in flowers and wine glasses and Italian treats. Too busy in conversation with each other oblivious of the fact that I was sitting there all alone and lost in my wedding dress. The groom left me at the alter, the music never started playing and it was raining cats and dogs. I was feeling like Rose from Titanic. You know what I mean? The scene where she runs to the edge of the boat ready to jump off. Luckily Rose was saved by Leo, and I woken up by my alarm.
Breath in. And out. I’m awake and it was all just a dream. Wait, I think a nightmare would be a better way to characterize it. My head is pounding as I open up my laptop to a swamped inbox. And so I reply to as many as I can while also saving beautiful wedding photos I come across. And before I know it, my future hubby is back from work and all is well in the world.
So this wedding spectacle we’re trying to arrange is interfering with my night’s rest and work. But I’ve transformed into a real Big Brother of ‘real weddings.’ My favorite category being: looking at pretty pictures of how other people experienced their big day. Hereby a peek into the things that have been keeping me busy: the best wedding websites filled with photos from real weddings. Inspiration overload.
No cheesy pastel pink wedding shenanigans and poofy dresses. Nope. The weddings you come across on this site are the kind you want. Gorgeous photos of the most sophisticated weddings. A lot of destination weddings too by the way. Long story short, an excess of inspiration.
So the name already says it all; practical. The publicized weddings all have titles along the lines of “organized in 6 weeks” or “how we had our dream day with only 8K.” And in the world of weddings, it’s rather enlightening. Everything is beautiful and in this case, ‘affordable.’
Okay, this isn’t your typical wedding website. Bo & Luca make the prettiest bridal gowns and accessories and their blog is a dream place for inspiration. Their Pinterest account is also definitely worth a visit.
I’m just going to throw it out there: this isn’t particularly my cup of tea. But that doesn’t mean I don’t like skimming through their site. A lot of poofy dresses, pearly white teeth and over done curls, but..oh it’s still got something enchanting about it. And the perfect website for me to check off all the things I don’t want at my wedding.
One of the biggest in the business. Filled with masses amount of wedding information and an insanely huge database of wedding editorials from ‘real weddings.’ You’ll be hooked for hours.
