Born in Chicago, raised in Georgia, educated at Central Saint Martins in London and a previous intern at fashion house mavens Oscar de la Renta and Tom Ford. Wes Gordon’s life in a nutshell. The 28 year old New York based designer teamed up with sunglass manufacturer Silhouette for a new high end and innovative collaboration. A first for the young designer who’s line was based on cutting edge nineties idols like Kate Moss. “I have never designed sunglasses before so for me this was the first time doing something like this.”

Gordon, who usually looks for unique items when it comes to his personal wardrobe, wanted the sunglasses to reflect his own philosophy of fashion. “Nowadays there is so much choice and so many items you can choose from, I only look for things that I really love and things that are timeless.” And so when it came to designing this line, he wanted to create something that would be worn by a wide variety of women and something that would compliment their own identities with a subtle hint of femininity and mysteriousness. Hence the decision to make the sunglasses available in four different colors that vary from a clean cut black option to an ocean blue and a nude brown to a classic grey.

Gordon was approached by Silhouette to collaborate on a collection and it appeared to be a match made in heaven. “It’s always exciting to have that opportunity to do something different,” says Gordon. The Austrian based company focuses on the manufacturing of slim and hand crafted glasses which pairs well with Gordon’s timeless sophistication. “I think what’s important to a collaboration is that I think that the end product looks like both collaborators.”

Sophisticated, craftsmanship and innovation. Wes Gordon and Silhouettes new take on their iconic Titan Mini Art makes this a line you’re going to love and one which will ‘amplify your true identity.’  And as for Gordon: “It was really a lot of fun more than anything else.”
