You know how some people are labeled as being a triple threat? And with triple threat they usually mean that the person in question is able to sing, dance and act? Well, we would like to introduce you to another kind of triple threat. Bruce Weber. Photographer, film maker and book publisher. And the latter is what we’ve got in store for you today.
For anyone who is unfamiliar with Bruce (first of all, shame on you), here’s a quick crash course: he initially pursued theater but started photographing in the late 70’s which lead to his first solo exhibition in 1973. He has worked for big names like Calvin Klein, Vanity Fair and Vogue and even has his own work permanently displayed in London’s Victoria and Albert Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in London. Late 1980’s he started working for feature films and shorts and somewhere in is perpetualy busy schedule, he managed to find time to publish books too.
Bruce Weber’s All American series. His first edition was released back in 2001 and there are a current total of 14. It’s a collection of ongoing art journals filled with original content and previously unpublished work from various artists, photographers, essayists, poets and personalities.
For anyone who admires contemporary photography and the contemporary American life, you’ll be guaranteed to love all 14 volumes of All American. All through the eyes of people whose lives and achievements deserve commemoration. A feast for the eyes and a symphony for the ears.
